Employee Spotlight
Shin-Yi has a diverse background in psychology and nursing. After earning her bachelor's degree in psychology, she attended nursing school in North Carolina. While working in a hospital, she recognized a pressing need for preventive care, which inspired her to pursue a Master’s in Public Health at Boston University. Following graduation, she spent a couple of years in a research program before joining the Health and Human Services Department in Newton, where she has dedicated the past nine years to community health and public service.

Connor McCombs serves as a Health Communications Officer for the City of Somerville, bringing a unique perspective to the Health and Human Services Department.
