Position Description
The Public Health Nurse will perform clinical and technical work to conduct communicable disease investigations and related follow-up including, but not limited to, tuberculosis DOT management, pertussis, measles, chicken pox, norovirus, and other situations of public health concern. In addition, this role will plan and implement immunization clinics, provide general health education programs to the public, and work closely with regional municipal health departments and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing with a minimum of two years of experience in health department nursing, hospital nursing, school nursing, or related area; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job is required. Must be a Registered Nurse in the State of Massachusetts.
Compensation
This position is full-time, 40 hours/week, requiring candidates to be available to work during the department’s hours. Fully benefitted!
Please note: This position is funded in part by the Public Health Excellence grant shared by the health departments in Arlington, Belmont, Brookline and Newton. While the position is based out of Belmont, there is an expectation that the Regional Shared Services Nurse will also be available to help out with regional public health nursing initiatives when called upon.
