Overview
The Town of Hamilton is seeking a motivated and community-focused individual to serve as a Regional Public Health Epidemiologist. This position supports public health efforts across the towns of Hamilton, Wenham, Rockport, and Essex through collaboration, education, outreach, and emergency preparedness.
This role focuses on strengthening regional public health infrastructure by addressing service gaps, coordinating programs, and fostering partnerships among local agencies, organizations, and community members. The position is based in Hamilton but serves all four communities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in public health, epidemiology, nursing, veterinary medicine, or a related health field
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in public health, clinical, or community health settings
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Valid Massachusetts driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to collaborate across multiple communities and organizations
- Proficiency with basic technology and digital communication tools
Required within 6 months of hire:
- MAVEN (Massachusetts Virtual Epidemiologic Network) training
- Completion of Local Public Health Institute / TRAIN Massachusetts Foundations Course
- ICS-100, ICS-200, IS-700, and IS-800 certifications
Schedule and Salary
- Full-time position
- Flexible schedule with occasional evening and weekend events
- Based in Hamilton with travel to Wenham, Rockport, and Essex
- Full benefits package included
- Mileage reimbursement provided
- Salary: Up to $85,000 annually
