Description:
NABH is seeking a compassionate Public Health Nurse to provide mandated Board of Health functions, community activities, home visits, education in public/disease prevention in the Nashoba district. The Nashoba district consists of 15 towns: Ashburnham, Ashby, Ayer, Berlin, Bolton, Boxborough, Dunstable, Groton, Harvard, Lancaster, Lunenburg, Pepperell, Shirley, Stow and Townsend.
Essential functions include, but are not limited to:
- Conducts Communicable Disease Investigation reporting, surveillance and follow-up.
- Provides individual and community education to promote health and wellness.
- Provides immunizations to community members via clinics, home visits and/or other organized local events.
- Addresses disease prevention, chronic disease management and harm reduction through ongoing individual and community assessments and targeted teaching.
Minimum qualifications:
include successful completion of a certified RN nursing program, current licensure by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Registered Nurse, current certification in CPR, a valid driver’s license, and a minimum of 3 years relevant experience. Experience in community nursing and health education, along with a knowledge of public health is preferred.
Salary and application instructions:
The position is 40 hours, non-exempt, benefited position. The hourly range is $38.46 - $40.87.
