Public Health Nurse - Full Time Position Overview

The Nashoba Associated Boards of Health is a regional health district which serves  sixteen communities in Northern Worcester and Middlesex counties. Reporting to the Public Health Manager, the Public Health Nurse provides mandated Board of Health functions, community activities, home visits, education in public/disease prevention in the Nashoba district. 

 

Essential functions include, but are not limited to:


 

  • Conducts Communicable Disease Investigation reporting, surveillance and follow-up.
  • Provides individual and community education to promote health and wellness.
  • Provides immunizations to community members via clinics, home visits and/or other organized local events.
  • Addresses disease prevention, chronic disease management and harm reduction through ongoing individual and community assessments and targeted teaching.

 

Minimum qualifications 

 

  • Successful completion of a certified RN nursing program
  • Current licensure by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Registered Nurse
  • Current certification in CPR
  • A valid driver’s license
  • A minimum of 3 years relevant experience. Experience in community nursing and health education, along with a knowledge of public health is preferred.
  • LPN considered based on experience.


 Hours, Pay Rate & Benefits

 

The position is 40 hours, non-exempt, benefited position. The hourly range is $38.46 - $40.87. Compensation based on experience and qualifications. NABH offers full and prorated benefits depending on hours worked. Benefits Include:
