Public Health Nurse

Overview

The Town of Nahant seeks a qualified professional to fill the part time position of Public Health Nurse. The Public Health Nurse is responsible for the oversight of the Board of Health’s public health nursing functions including but not limited to administering immunizations, conducting communicable disease investigations, and participating in public health clinics and educational programs. 

The Public Health Nurse reports directly to the Town Administrator and works closely with the Town Health Officer. 

Responsibilities and Duties

• Health assessment, prevention of the spread of communicable disease, emergency planning, and all public health responsibilities as mandated by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health 
• Follow up on disease reports and investigations and enforcement of isolating and quarantine regulations and control of outbreaks.
• Managing of immunizations clinics, screening clinics, home visits, and community outreach and education 

Qualifications 

• Current R.N. license from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and registered vehicle
