Job Summary
Applications are being accepted for a full-time Principal Clerk/Administrative Assistant in the Health Department. The Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support and customer assistance to the Health and Inspectional Services Departments. Work includes assisting applicants with the permitting processes, interpreting state and local health regulations, preparing correspondence, maintaining and updating records, and responding to inquiries and requests from public in person and on the phone; all other duties as directed.

- Provides customer assistance to residents and the public regarding State and Local Health Regulations. This includes answering resident and the public queries related to Health and Inspectional Services in person and on the phone.
- Prepares correspondence as directed.
- Generates and issues health permits and conduct mass mailings in a timely manner on a routine basis and maintains records of all permits.
- Tracks and deposits health permit fees accurately on a routine basis.
- Generates reports for departmental activity upon request from Director of Public Health
- Relays accurate information to the Director of Public Health in a timely manner.

Qualifications
An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred or at least 2-5 years of financial municipal experience in an office setting. Prior experience working with MUNIS is a plus.
