The Town of Upton is seeking a qualified candidate for the part-time, on-call position of Animal Control Officer, reporting to the Town Manager. The Animal Control Officer enforces applicable state laws and local bylaws related to animal control, promotes public health and safety, and ensures the humane care and handling of domestic and wild animals. The Animal Control Officer also serves as the town's Animal Health Inspector.
Qualifications: Associate’s degree preferred. Candidates must successfully complete Animal Control Officer certification and have 1–3 years of experience in animal control, animal handling, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Compensation: Starting pay is commensurate with qualifications and experience. The full salary range is $26.26–$35.97 per hour. This is a part-time, on-call, non-benefit-eligible position.
